| These photographs were made on a chilly, damp, misty, but poignantly beautiful December afternoon, while walking along the old town wall that surrounds Lucca, Italy. The first print I made from that day's negatives was "December - Lucca", and it was one of my first sellers and has been one of my best sellers. While organizing my negatives one day, I examined the series more thoroughly, and thought I would give the more balanced one a try. Now, I personally find "Strollers in the Fog" the more satisfying of the two pictures. To answer a frequent question, I have no idea who the people are. For those of you interested in such things, the picture was made with a Pentax 6x7 with the 135mm macro lens - actually a useful all-around lens. And a much crisper lens that is revealed here - remember, I was shooting in chilly weather and not-the-brightest light with a longer-than-normal length lens, handheld. | | |
