| It is quite a hike to the top of Hanging Rock, in North Carolina. The distance is not great - the incline is! I have long been fascinated with expanses of rock, and the ways trees manage to get a toe-hold and grow in them. My personal copy of this photograph is 12x16, and it could go larger if I had the means. At present I am not very interested in presenting this picture in black-and-white, which is usually my preference - the colors and contrasts are pretty muted by the overcast sky, and as gray tones without the interest provided by the green and brown pine needles, I fear would be lackluster. The camera is an Olympus Evolt E500, which is an 8 megapixel digital slr. | | |
