Field with White Rocks - Stone Mountain

It was getting to be late in the afternoon near Stone Mountain, North Carolina, and these rocks took on a glow from the last of the light. I made a couple of test prints several months ago which recently worked their way to the top of a stack of loose prints, and I found that I kept looking at them, so decided to work on the picture a little more. I have enhanced the contrast somewhat in this black-and-white version. I am not sure at this point (July 2006) whether there will be a color version - it will require a rather different approach, and I am not sure I can make a print in color that will be so satisfactory as this one.
